Yes. The core app is free, with no ads. An optional Plus tier adds unlimited AI chat, app & content blocking, a Shorts & Reels blocker, and partner check-ins — with a 14-day free trial — but you never need it to use BeFree.
Can BeFree block YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels?
Yes. BeFree Plus includes a short-form blocker for Android that gently steps you out of the Shorts or Reels feed while leaving the rest of YouTube and Instagram usable. It's opt-in and works entirely on your device: it recognises the feed by its on-screen layout, never reads what you're watching, and sends nothing anywhere.
Is there a free trial for BeFree Plus?
Yes — new subscribers get 14 days of BeFree Plus free on either the monthly or yearly plan. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing. Billing is handled by Google Play.
Does BeFree have an AI accountability partner?
Yes — BeFree gives you a supportive AI accountability partner you name and can talk to any time. It offers a gentle nudge when you go quiet and a kind word after a slip, never judgement.
Is BeFree an app blocker?

BeFree is available now on Android via Google Play, with iPhone on the way. The AI companion, check-ins, support library and Plus chat work on both. App & content blocking relies on device features, so it is on Android now and comes to iPhone via Apple Screen Time after launch.
